Pastor Lawrence Shakir
is the Founding Pastor of The Foundation of the World Church, he and his wife Danetria Shakir have two boys together; Joshua and Isaiah. Pastor Shakir accepted the ministerial call and has been teaching the word of God since January 2000. Beginning with the children's ministry at his local church, Pastor Shakir discovered the significance of explaining the Bible in a practical, simple way so that his audience can build a relationship with Jesus Christ. In January of 2001 Pastor Shakir decided to start a weekly home Bible Study for his family who had little to no interest in Christianity. One of the main objectives for the Bible Study was to give his family a strong foundation in Christian living by teaching them out of the Word of God. Surprising his family began to invite their friends, neighbors and co-workers. It was then that God gave him the vision of "The Foundation of the World" Pastor Shakir realized that most of the people attending were unchurched, rejected, misunderstood, people that just wanted real answers to their questions. Soon Pastor Shakir began visiting all types of rejected hurting people in Homeless Shelters, Hospitals, Youth Correction faculties, Prisons, etc. continuing to give them Solid Biblical teaching

Luke 6:47 "As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. 48 They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation Upon the Rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was built Upon the Rock." Modern technology has opened the door for people all over the world to receive the gospel of Jesus on a daily basis. We believe in spreading the gospel via, internet, mobile, television, radio, etc. to encourage people to put these words into practice so that the storms of life, does not ruin their world.

Serving

Matthew 25:33 "He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. 34 "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since The Foundation of the World. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. Jesus blessed the Sheep and condemned the Goats because how they treated the prisoned, the sick, and the homeless. As the body of Christ we are urged to keep these particular groups in our prayers and to give them our attention.

Seminars

Luke 22:31 "Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.". Every believer has a time where they have missed the mark or made a choice that they regret. However the key is to learn from those actions so that you can be prepared for the next test. In doing so we cannot afford to forget about our brothers who are going down the same path. Jesus encourages us to reach back and strengthen our brothers by giving them the tools they need to get them to the next level.

Mark 16:15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." This is the Great Commission that our Lord gave us before he ascended to Heaven. Not only are we to attend church, but we are to take what we have learned into our world, weather it is our community, school, work place, or family members.
